Emtele is a strategic partner for health care service providers. Emtele eHealth infrastructure provides a managed connectivity environment to deploy secure and easy to use remote diagnostic and medical services. eHealth enables medical service providers to efficiently offer remotely supported medical and well-being services, such as enhanced self-care at home. The service utilizes power from modern communication technologies through a scalable and centralized operator proof platform.

Emtele together with its partners is offering end-to-end turnkey connectivity services. This includes centralized management and upkeeping of the total communication environment. The eHealth enables the medical information to be efficiently and securely transported from the individual diagnostic device to the appropriate medical system.

REMOTE ECG-MONITORING SOLUTION

Digital technology based devices together with information and communication systems have enabled new, potential ways of performing medical diagnostics. Compact size, easy-to-use devices produce premium quality diagnostic information at a very competitive price level. With this new technology existing processes can be re-engineered resulting in shorter delays, more accurate diagnoses and lower total cost. One such development has been the use of telemedicine equipment for undertaking cardiovascular diagnosis and monitoring for patients with cardiac conditions within the home/community environment.

Still in telecardiology, solutions that could truly utilise, integrate, and manage different vendors’ devices and applications has been lacking, primarily because of a reliance on proprietary hardware and non-standardized vendor-specific ECG data form and structure, influencing heavily on transfer, further processing and archiving of ECG data.

Emtele`s Global Telehealth Services (GTS) will address this lack of dynamic and scalable solutions by demonstrating a service platform and business concept which can be adopted by a wide range of health care providers. Small scale use may involve only tens of connected devices, while large service providers providing remote monitoring services may have needs to connect with several thousands of devices already in Finland.

The GTS will use standard ECG formats, in particular the aECG (HL7), and existing infrastructure including personal computers, cellular and broadband internet connections in order to avoid extra costs. Concerning ECG measurement devices, all manufacturers preferring interoperability are potential partners.
