Emtele will have a significant operative role in coming EU projects in the field of transportation and logistics.
TeleFOT’s total budget is 14,5 million euros and ASSET’s total budget is 8 million euros. The projects include representatives from the European automotive industry and research institutes, equipment manufacturers (phones, navigators), and road maintenance and service operators.

Telehealth picks up heat - Health care knowledge optimization seminar arranged by VTT and Emtele
Many countries including Finland are getting challenges in growing the proportional number of elderly people compared with tax paying. At the same time demands of ever increasing quality of care are rising. Cost cutting is very difficult when care personnel ask more salary because of the heavy and busy working conditions. The work cost is about 65% of the total health care cost. This means that the work cost is very critical element. Productivity has not grown with exception of few organizations that have streamlined their business and care processes. Too many have counted on new ICT solutions to make things happen more efficiently. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Instead software installed has come from many vendors are not integrated resulting in extra work and possible errors when personnel has to use many applications to get simple procedures done. The situation becomes even more complicated when communicative measurement devices have been added to the care. They use proprietary data formats and require all software modules and even terminals to analyze the measured data from the same vendor. The change towards standardized data formats has started from national Electronic Patient Records. Unfortunately this alone is not sufficient, but needs changes to the production management and processes.

Now Emtele will present the story of Telecardiology benefits together with VTT in the international seminar 4th of December. The seminar will be opened by the Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Paula Risikko. Emtele, Chairman of the Board Tapio Hintikka, will tell how the new communication service will cut cost and increase care effectiveness using Telehealth services and applying various medical devices, especially in telecardiology.
